Op donderdag 6 november 2014 gaven Rob Sies, Hian Li Ko en Jan-Willem van Geen van de sectie Arbeidsrecht een zeer succesvol seminar over de Wet Werk en Zekerheid. Deze wet zal namelijk vanaf 1 januari 2015 het arbeidsrecht in Nederland drastisch veranderen. Elke onderneming met personeel zal met deze wijzigingen in aanraking komen. Het is dus van belang dat men op de hoogte is van de belangrijkste wijzigingen en hoe hier in de praktijk mee kan worden omgegaan. Het doel van dit seminar was om de deelnemers daarin te ondersteunen. In anderhalf uur werden de hoofdlijnen van de nieuwe wet uiteengezet.
De veelheid en complexiteit aan wijzigingen leidden bij de deelnemers tot de nodige onrust omdat men zich realiseerde dat er nog het nodige werk aan de winkel was voordat het predicaat “WWZ-proof” zou kunnen worden gegeven. Naar aanleiding van de vragen vanuit het publiek, gaven de sprekers een aantal praktische tips en kwamen met enige broodnodige creatieve en praktische oplossingen. De discussie werd uiteindelijk onder het genot van een borrel voortgezet in de befaamde BASE-bar.
